Gereakaye
I named her after Linda Oma's darling granddaughter who owns this beautiful name.
Gereakaye measures 12 inch/31 cm and as you can see on all the various pics, she got some sort of jointed arms and legs.
All thick copper wire, wrapped with airdryclay. Her hands are thin wire, wrapped with thread and than painted.
GK got a real bjd wig, glass eyes and tiny dr Martens boots. Her dress is handmade by me with farious antique lace.
I don't want to sell her right away, but if someone wants to adopt her for $320, that's fine by me. So, this way i know for sure she stays with me for quit a while ;-) LOL!

Holiday in Altea la Vieja Spain

I was in Spain last week with my sister,her 2 daughters and a friend.
I wasn't intent to go on a trip,but my sister knows a man who owns a house in Altea la Vieja and he offered her to stay there with whoever she likes.
So she asked me if i wanted to come with them and i did.
The weather was very hot and only a couple raindrops!
Now that i'm back in Holland, it's half the temperature, very windy and it's raining...raining..and raining!

These 3 pics are in Guadalest, a little old town high upon the mountains. I could feel it in my ears!(like when youre in an airplane)

Hi there lady's! I haven't sculpt any new artdolls lately cause i'm busy, well, not too busy, hee!hee! with creating small goodies for an art/hobby fair in my neighborhood september 17th. Here in Holland they don't know shit about artdolls and if they do, they're not gonna pay much for it unfortunately :-( Most Dutch folks "sit on their money" like Ebenezer Scrooge or the uncle of Donald Duck!
So i decided to make small, easy to make stuff that won't cost much :-) I hope this works. I haven't made enough allready cause lately i spend lots of time with my sister and her daughters. Our bound is much stronger now, since my boyfriend left me some months ago.

After a very sad period i felt like making something colorful, so i made this chopstick birdie.
It was very fun to make her, so i think i'm gonna make 2 more but with different colors and offcourse a dark version ;-) I'll put them in my Etsy shop.

My sisters birthday was last week and she really loved the movie "Rango", so i made her a Rango bust. I'm glad she liked him!

I didn't spoke him for a couple months, just because something small...
My sister and his grandkids didn't see him for 5 years, just because of something big...
He was a stubborn man :-(
a Mourning-card was in our mailbox, just like that!
...We didn't know he had the terrible "C"...
cause nobody told us... Not even his girlfriend who now suddenly is his wife?!?...
Not even my halfbrother...not even her daughters...
The'yre names are all on the card, including their partners?!?...
But no sign of ours.....
How cruel, brutal, abominable, gruesome, heinous, inhuman, barbaric can you be?!?....
It's unreal... I feel numb...dazed...
Dad, maybe you realize what you have done now you're a spirit...
Maybe you can visit your grandkids once in a while, now you can fly...
and maybe you protect your daughters, now you've got the power to do so...

But now i have to tell you 7 things about myself!
Hmmm... let's see...

1: I don't like typical Dutch food ( cooked potatoes, cooked vegetables, meet, gravy) but i really love Thai and Indian food! The more spicy the better!

2: I'm a false playing Vegetarian cause i eat fish ones in a while.

3: Mostly i don't get emotional when a human dies in a movie, but when an animal dies, i get all teared up.

4: I can throw my tv out, cause i hardly watch it since i discovered sculpting 2 years ago.

5: My name "SoDarkSoCute" is really how i am. I have 2 sides. I love black gothic rock punky clothing, but also romantic powdery/pale/antiqued white,pink,salmon,lilaque. I also have a variaty of very different music that i love.

6: One of my greatest wishes is to come over to the U.S.A. and meet Linda Oma and her wonderful family and give them all a BIG hug!

7: Something that might surprise you :-) I was in the army a long time ago when the war in Yugoslavia was going on. My troops were going to the warzone just after i was unfit for work cause i hurt my back and knees. I had to quit, cause i was no use to my fellow soldiers if i put them in danger because i couldn't function as a strong soldier like i ought to be :-(
I'm gonna find my picturebook thats in my moms house and scan some of them ok?
But promiose that you won't laugh too hard!

HOLLAND: Volendam, Marken, Edam PART2

The second day the weather was much better,but still very much wind as you can see on my hair LOL!

We saw a lot of spooky old houses in Edam.

We stood still by a very strange, odd house. Behind the windows we saw a lot of shadowboxes/assemblages with antique doll parts, animal skulls and other things. It looks kinda creepy! I made pictures of all these boxes, but unfortunatley not the whole front of the house :-(

Creeps the shit of of ya if you pass by at night huh?! :-<

In Volendam i made these funny pictures of little birds who came very close to us!
They eat all our applepie leftovers!

Holland: Volendam, Marken, Edam

Thuesday i traveled to Volendam(famous for its yummie smoked Eel) with my mother. We stayed in a b&b for the night,but that wasnt such a great idea after all :-(
We had to share 1 bed and she snored like a lion,so i couldn't get any sleep.

Here's some information i got from Wikipedia:
Originally, Volendam was the location of the harbor of the nearby Edam, which was situated at the mouth of the river IJ. In 1357, the inhabitants of Edam dug a shorter canal to the Zuiderzee with its own separate harbor. This removed the need for the original harbor, which was then dammed and used for land reclamation. Farmers and local fishermen settled there, forming the new community of Vollendam, which literally meant something like 'Filled dam'. In the early part of the 20th century it became something of an artists' retreat, with both Picasso and Renoir spending time here. The majority of the population belongs to the Roman Catholic Church, which is deeply connected to the village culture. Historically, many missionaries and bishops grew up in Volendam. Today there is the chapel of Our Lady of the Water.

Volendam is a popular tourist attraction in the Netherlands, well-known for its old fishing boats and the traditional clothing still worn by some residents. The women's costume of Volendam, with its high, pointed bonnet, is one of the most recognizable of the Dutch traditional costumes, and is often featured on tourist postcards and posters (although there are believed to be fewer than 50 women now wearing the costume as part of their daily lives, most of them elderly). was a cute little girl in the past.
So sad that didn't last...

She liked to play on aunty Pam her cemetery
when darkness falls it was very scary...

She was never afraid with bear on her side
but she had to come home before midnight...

Thats when the spirits came out to dance and play
and they don't want little witchy in their way...

Years past by... she became as wicked as can be.
Now she's dancing with the spirits

It's very confusing. I saw on someones blog the figure of Sinterklaas/Saint Nicholas. She thought he is our(Holland) Santaclaus. But thats not right. We also have Santaclaus. We call him Kerstman (Christmas man).
I looked it up on wikipedia. Santa was original Sinterklaas. The dutch brought him to America a long long time ago! Read for yourself. It's very interesting :-)

It's a pity we don't celebrate Halloween here in Holland/the Netherlands.

We have something similar: St. Martin's Day. Kids collect candy,sing songs and carry a lantern, but not all dressed up and nothing spooky at all :-(

Well, some people have Halloween props in their garden or on the window since shops sell Halloween stuff just for fun and offcourse $ $ $

I honoustly didn't know where St Martin's Day came from,

so i looked it up on Wikipedia:

St. Martin's Day, also known as the Feast of St. Martin, Martinstag or Martinmas, is November 11, the feast day of Martin of Tours, who started out as a Roman soldier. He was baptized as an adult and became a monk. It is understood that he was a kind man who led a quiet and simple life. I scupted this little Vampire girl head a long while ago and didn't know what to do with her.

I also bought a couple wooden 10 inch tall candle holders a long time ago and also didn't know what to make with them, and suddenly i knew!

I haven't decide yet if i sell this or keep it for myself,hahaha!

are ready to celebrate Halloween!
They're made out of airdry clay and have movable arms.
Their hair is lambwool, dresses are organza and tulle.
Bonnets are felt and organza.
7.5 inch total lenght.
I burned holes in the organza on the bonnets and in the dresses and also the edges to make it look more suitable for these lady's.

Her arms are movable. Instead of legs she got metal chains with a pearl and moonstone bead.

For the 3rd quarterly chalenge at the Dark Artist Guild we have to make Memento Mori busts.
(Memento Mori are memorial death pictures)
Abby is made of airdry clay and 8.3 inch tall.
Her bonnet and dress are all antique fabrics.
On the front is her memoria deathl picture, which i printed on transfer paper and ironed on fabric.

Yesterday my mom and me were hopping in a train and went to an old dutch city called "Leiden".
The weather was beautiful and i got sunburned :-( what caused me a headache i still have.
This city was worth going to visit! We did a cruise in a small open boat with 25 other people.
We saw a lot of gordious houseboats.
Here are some pics:

Not all was beautiful. We also sailed across an old wheat/flour factory.

It gives me the creeps! A perfect location for the SAW movies was going true my head!

de Hooglandse Kerk/the Highlander Church:

Build in the 14th century.

This clockwork was made in 1609.

It was constructed as a clockwork with spindle and balance.

We walked over skelletons, cause the churchfloor are all gravestones!

Her story:

This cute little girl named Sarah Lee

one day fell off an apple tree.

She reached for this One big and red

but could never take a bite, so sad

cause little Sarah died instead

At midnight it's her ghost you see,

I decided to show you my treasures!

I work in the homecare for elderly people and build a great friendship with a very sweet lady. Her family had fourniture/haberdashery shops from the early 19th century till some year ago.

I told her i make dolls and other creations and she showed me a couple shoeboxes stuffed with pieces of these wonderfull fabric treasures from.....the early 19th century!!!

I guess they used a lot of gold,darkred and green as you can see in the last 3 pictures. Their allmost the same colors,but with a lot of different textures. It also feels very soft like silk. Maybe it is silk?

On the 2 pictures above there are also some stitched pieces with beads on it. It looks like it's handstitched!

She kept these many years and never did anything with it....it waited for me to take them home! WOW!

I'm so happy! I allready used some of it for my orphans and Mathilda and my madhatters, wich i show you at the teaparty June the 26th :-)

She's "Superbia - Pride". This time not really the darkest of the darkest art, so i hope they like her at DAG, hahaha!

This is Bethany the 3rd orphan for the Creepy Orphan Society.

hmmm... i guess she didn't turn out very creepy huh? LOL!

Her story:

Bethany was raised by her granny

She had a pumpkin farm

Oh yes, there were sooo many!

But the weather caused them harm

It didn't rain for much too long

Instead the sun shined stronger and stronger!

One day something went very wrong

Granny couldn't handle much longer

Giving all the pumpkins water from the well

Walking a very long and heavy way

And that is why she fell

Among the pumpkins she passed away...

Since i became a member of the Dark Artist Guild i'm participating in their awesome chalenges!

For a group inside DAG, the Dark Artdoll Group, we have to make creepy orphans with no time limit, so we can make as much orphans as we like :-) That's why its called the Creepy Orphan Society.

After *Maura was born, her mother ran away.

She didn't want to keep her, and she didn't want to stay.

Her father, a great Alchemist, took care of her till now...

He died so suddenly, it's a mystery, nobody could tell me how...

Now she watch over his secret book of Alchemy, and learn about Sulpur and Lead.

To be his successor is all she want to be, continuing his work and succeed.....

She asked me to make something for her, so i've made her a dress and a creepy necklace. She wanted to be someting like a living dead doll.
There wasn't much time to make her the way i wanted, like her hair weaved with spiderwebs :-(

I wanted to make a creation with a bat before Halloween, but i need epoxy and i don't have it yet :-( So, i show you something else...
I used to draw many years ago and remembered that i drawed a Kobold with a bat in his hand. I've made it with pastel crayons when i was 16 years old, so that's a loooooooong time ago, hahaha!
